Many Mansions
As written for the Requiem Mass of Edna Rose (tune Quem Pastores)
In God’s house are many mansions.
Dwelling place beyond all grandeur:
A place of peace, of rest and light
For those who live a faithful life.
Jesus the way, the truth and life,
Faithful guide through daily strife,
To those who walk the narrow way
He is the door of endless day.
His the love that made all things,
For Him creation’s beauty sings,
The Christian knows in her heart’s deep,
This love will all His promise keep.
In Jesus LIFE has conquered death,
And in the hour of our last breath,
By tender, wounded, broken hands,
He leads the soul to his own land.
Lord, hear us, as we make our prayer,
For this our sister, for whom we care.
Let all your light now flood her soul,
Prepare her for your heavenly home.
